Discussion on Diversity in Computational Social Science
This event was held on June 23, 2020 was part of the 2020 Summer Institute in Computational Social Science Festival (SICSS). In order to thrive, the field of computational social science needs contributions from diverse scholars. This discussion will address this broad challenge in a specific setting: the creation of SICSS-Howard/Mathematica (https://compsocialscience.github.io/s...), the first SICSS located at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The discussion will focus on efforts to increase diversity in computational social science, why this work is important, and what should be done in the future.
Stakeholder Feedback for the NIST Privacy Framework
On August 13, 2019 Privacy Lab hosted the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for a discussion on their voluntary Privacy Framework, developed in collaboration with private and public sector stakeholders, to help organizations: better identify, assess, manage, and communicate privacy risks; foster the development of innovative approaches to protecting individuals’ privacy; and increase trust in products and services.

The May iteration of Privacy Lab will be a privacy author round-table hosted by the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Privacy at Berkeley (IRGP). The event will bring together prominent authors of privacy books who will discuss their work and privacy more generally.
